Woodcock Hunting over pointing dogs is a Royal hunting experience. For many years, Bulgaria and its spectacular landscapes have delighted a large number of woodcock hunting enthusiasts. It is on the shores of the Black Sea, on the border with Turkey that we invite you to come and spend a few days in search of the mythical queen of the woods. This hunting area is known and recognized throughout the world for the spectacular densities of woodcocks that it counts each year at the time of migration. Indeed it is not rare, when the weather conditions are favorable to raise more than 25-30 birds in one day!

Area: We have access to mulitple hunting areas in Bulgaria. The choice of the exact hunting area will depend on the exact time of your booking and the location of the birds.  

 

Hunting Season: November until the end of February (BEST time: January / February).

 

Species: Woodcocks (Partridges and pheasants also available in nearby areas)

 

Accommodation: To ensure good quality of hunting, a maximum of 6 hunters are allowed on this hunt. You will be lodged in a comfortable hotel close to the hunting area based on single occupancy lodging.

 

How to get there: Woodcock hunting areas are situated around 200 to 500 km from Sofia or Varna airport. 

 

Typical Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival at Sofia airport - 4.5 hours transfer to hotel

Days 2, 3,4 & 5: Full days of hunting over pointing dogs

Day 5: Early Breakfast - Transfer to Sofia airport to catch your return flight back home
